Fantasy Flash! Alternative Universe Spin-offs!

So I was glancing at the Twitter page and caught sight of the mention of the zombie flu...

... and I had this sudden flash of fantasy wherein Jeph decided to write a spin-off comic that was literally just an alternative universe (like the blurb under this comic) in which something crazy and non-canon happens. Short lived, not related to the story, whatever.

The fantasy that first popped to mind? Zombie apocalypse. Zombie flu happens. We skip all the boring creepy flu spreading slowly turning people into zombies phase and jump straight into Marten 'n friends (or maybe Hannelore and friends!) attempting to survive the zombie onslaught Left 4 Dead style. Except with the QC twist, and inevitable gruesome end or something so that it doesn't stretch on too long.

What crazy ideas could you see happening?

It's been done. Admittedly, not with a comic, but there's probably more original Alternate Universe things to be done.

Kugai:
A strange alien virus infects QC world - All the women are turned into Lesbians and all the men become slaves fit only for menial work and breeding purposes until Hanners figures out how to clone people - then all their useful for is slaves.

maddness:
Hanners gets several beat up crates from her dad along with a cryptic note that says somnething is coming and she has to be prepared. Upon opening the crates she finds several mechs. When the invasion from space comes she and the CoD crew suit up and lead the fight to save Earth.

Zingoleb:
HannerDad turns out to have just been bored and wanted to film their mishaps. Ohnoes!
