Thankyou Spoon! I will get a listen in & report back my findings!

Mr. Doctor, I love woodcut look. It looks like all the images of Plague Doctors mix with Bosch....good. I'm trying to find an image of my friends split that has a simliar feel, failing gah!

O yeah, I really like those kind of works too. I don't think you would like the band unless you like some really creepy Black Metal.
But glad that you liked that one.

I lke this one too, but not as great as the other one, because that woman/bird scare the shit out of me.

They actually are pretty good, I've got that first album (the one with the white cover) and it's even rather fun which isn't something you can always say about black metal. I can send you mp3s if you like, considering I still have two of your books I need to get back to you and I said I'd send you an mp3 CD ages ago.

I agree, the music is fun but sometimes really beautiful with all the acustic guitarrs going on at times. The vocals that Niege from Alcest did on a track are so haunting.

Yes you do. But if I let you keep them I can use them as hanging out blackmail at some point...but yes please. Also to not be off topic:

Ummmm old school Hewlitt and coloured vinyl...(You can't see the vinyl obviously, but I have it & they are both pretty.)

Mmmm, I kinda like Cannibal Corpse... But here's what I think:

1- That one isn't good. For better Cannibal Corpse's artworks I'd say:
* Butchered At Birth [That kinda remains me of "The Reward of Cruelty"]
* Tomb Of The Mutilated
* Hammer Smashed Face
* Gallery Of Suicide
* Evisceration Plague
* The Bleeding [It's very simple but I like the colours]

2- In the best-case escenario your post would be censored because this website [unfourtunately] don't appreciate any kind of gore  :cry:  :-(  :cry:

3- The ones that elizaknowswhatshesfor posted a cool as hell, I really liked the colours and how the chaos was all over the place.

4- I really like this one, it's such a brutal cover. Without blood it's just as violent.

all of Converge's album art has been pretty amazing, not just Jane Doe:

oh, and the art for the NEW ALBUM 'Axe to Fall':

Mr. Doctor Those two album covers were done by the same artist as Gorillaz, Monkey & Tank Girl. I like his 90's stuff like this best. Glad you liked!

The converge stuff I do like, but man their recent merch is ugly ugly ugly. I gues now is the time to bring up Derek Hess:

Since I saw some Cannibal Corpse cover art, I will let everyone know that one of my friends, who is doing some psychology work at a maximum security prison, saw a scene that is as close as anyone will ever get to "Eaten Back To Life."  One of the prisoners had ripped open some sutures that were made when he had 37 spoons removed from his stomach (yes) and was chewing on his intestines.  If I didn't know this guy, I'd have said it was all a lie, so feel free to call me a liar.  I wouldn't believe it either.

As for me, I obviously like the cover art for "These Are the Vistas" by The Bad Plus.
I'm also a fan of Chris Potter's "Lift"

and the first Metheny Mehldau album, but it takes some explanation:

The actual album is just blue, but the sleeve has white on it to obscure some of the blue and create the writing.  I think it's a very pretty effect.

Wow, The worst thing with those kind of artworks is that sometimes they are inspired by real stuff.
Sick info, I believe I'm very good dealing with lots of gore, but if I was that friend of yours... That scene will haunt me for years.

I think he's doing pretty okay with it, but he's not doing his next year of school there (he's getting a Psy D, and this is part of the practical part).  They never figured out why he did it, and it was about the third time he'd ripped open the sutures.  He's going to work with kids next year, which will hopefully be better.

Esoteric - The Manical Vale

I posted that one two pages ago, and I say it again... That's one of the most beautiful artwork I've seen and I'm proud of having that baby in my collecion. Easily the best metal cd(s) from 2008.
That baby is going to my list of 5 essential albums, I'm still working on the it though jejeje  :-D

Thanks for the coment :) And about drone...I wouldn't call it an obsession since I don't listen to it that often but I do listen to more than just 3-4 bands of that genre.
_____

We need to stay on topic now... So here are the cds I'm gonna buy soon yay!

Mar De Grises is a band from my country, really really good Doom Metal. Anyone with a little interest in the genre and enjoy romantic/mindblowing stuff should check their myspace Specially the first song.
And No, it's not a Llama, but a heart.

Yeah, Topher's pretty harmless.  I played in a band with the guy in high school, and aside from being a bit behind on fashion (Topher: "Why are my pants so tight?"  BB: "Because you're stuck in the 80's."  T:  "Right."), he's harmless.  I'm just worried that the kids might disturb him more than the prisoners.  They might be less twisted, but they're kids, and that might wreck him forever.

I like Paul Gilbert's "Flying Dog" and "Burning Organ" albums.  They're not particularly artistic, but they're kind of funny.

Hopefully you can guess which is which.

Also.. Here a probably NSFW picture of an album I like:
Eyehategod - Take As Needed For Pain

Also... One of my favorites artworks because it's so simple and so bleak, just like the music. The name of the album it's the best as well.

Golden City's self-titled mini-album

kinda struck the same chord with me as the art from american football's self-titled album - the whole "tranquil and yet slightly creepy suburban house" thing.  this'll be uploaded in the mediaf!re thread in a few minutes if technical gremlins remain at bay...

Also, any chance of finding out what the other covers in that post (without text on them) are? The first one in particular is pretty dang cool.
