GT are amazing. i saw them live in a tiny venue (the jailhouse in coventry) shortly after the release of "dead mountain mouth" and although the crowd was subdued (it's hard to know what to do other than stare open-mouthed when the music's that batshit insane), it was a truly immense gig. shame they're on hiatus now :-(

How does this even work on a 12"? Is it like..one-sided at 45rpm?

I think it works in the way that the vinyl jumps out of the cover and kicks you in the nuts.
