Forced Listening XVIII- Attack of the gay jewish communists.
Caspian:
Dammit guys, this thread has always been a great idea and it's worth resurrecting yet again. For the new people, here is what you do with forced listening:
1. I upload a track.
2. You download it, review it and give it a rating out of 10. Be harsh, no one likes people trying to be all open minded.
3. You upload a track for someone else to review.
4. ???
5. 4 chan meme!
It's not hard, and you occasionally get some rad music out of it. DOWNLOAD, REVIEW AND UPLOAD. It's not hard. Let's make this work for a change! Also, mp3 would be the preferred format.
Here's mine, some fine ass death doom from My Dying Bride, "Sear Me". How damn cool is that opening riff???!!?

Scandanavian War Machine:
i give it a 6 out of ten.
it would be higher if it weren't for the vocals. not that they're bad, per se, it's just that as a point of preference, i prefer my doom metal to be instrumental. actually, the vocals became less of an issue as the song went on; the vocals only part towards the end was pretty cool, in particular.
and yeah, the opening riff kind of caught me off guard. it's almost a little power metal-y (at least by doom standards) so that was kind of cool to be a little surprised.
i really like the drumming; it's very effective but it's not complex or anything. i like knowing that i could play the drums to a song; it makes me feel almost talented.
so yeah, 6 out of ten. good, but i won't be rushing out to buy any of their records based on that track alone.
and now, for my track, i give you "Drag My Own Coffin To Hell" by Bitchslicer. some good, old fashioned thrash metal about partying in hell with all your sinner friends.

Avec:
Yeah, I kind of don't want to fuck with my desktop anymore than I have to.
Scandanavian War Machine:
you don't have to download anything you don't want to. you can just select "open" instead of "save" and it will open in your default media player.
also, what is box.net? i am not familiar with it.
Tyler:
box.net is pretty much amazing.
