Listened to Summerteeth and Yankee Hotel Foxtrot today in mourning. RIP Jay Bennett.

Summerteeth has been put on repeat indefinitely.

I always felt Bennett was a major part of what made Wilco interesting. Just listen to the new album. It's insular, all about Tweedy and, as a result, far less compelling and far more banal lyrically and musically. Sky Blue Sky hinted at this and even A Ghost is Born fell short of  the greatness of Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, instead sort of riding that creative wave past its crest a bit. It's a sad day indeed. RIP, Jay Bennett. Thanks for the tunes.
