Because as long as Pintsize's hard drive (or SSD or whatever AnthroPCs have for non-volatile storage) is intact, he's safe. (The rest of him is just off-the-shelf components, and the government-issue case.) As long as that's not fried. they can boot another willing AnthroPC off Pintsize's hard drive and he's back again. (Maybe they'll boot it off Momo. If they do, I don't want to think about what would happen.) Remember the episode of Futurama where the temporary bureaucrat takes a floppy out of Bender's head and he loses his personality and only stands around saying "I am Bender please insert girder" in monotone? I guess they might work something like that.

Or maybe it's just because WOO NEW CHARACTER WOO! :roll:

Because as long as Pintsize's author feels like writing lines for him, he safe.  Even if his hard drive gets fed into a trash compactor.  His malady will last just long enough for us to get acquainted with the new character and then he'll make a miraculous recovery.  He has a strain of virus called dramaticus necessitae
