There's a difference between not looking like your own voice and not looking like any voice. 

If you think about it, Little Foot from Land Before Time didn't look like his voice particularily, but really, what should his voice have sounded like?

Idunno, MJ looked about as anemic as he sounded. Fair match to me.

I guess if I were to hear his voice and had not known what he'd looked like, I wouldn't have been able to venture a guess, and when you consider the inverse to be true, it's more like "Sure, why not."  Weird face, weird voice, perfect match.
