Okay I just learned that showings of this were supposed to have the Toy Story 3 trailer and the one I went to didn't and now I'm pissed

Anyway!

I absolutely loved Up. It excelled amazingly in pretty much every way, but the thing that struck me most was how goddamn funny it was--that was totally unexpected on my part. The writing was superb--a whole lot of subtlety and every single element introduced, even the tiniest of details, played a key role in the whole plot and the ultimate tie-ins just completed the whole film. That was something Pixar did with the Toy Stories and Finding Nemo that's been missing in their more recent movies. Animation was top-notch as usual, the score was perfect, and did I mention how fucking hilarious it was because man this shit's a riot. To me it just felt like a truly creative and unique film and a wonderful work of art. Also there are talking dogs. The talking dogs are fucking awesome.

The fact that even a Pixar film where Larry the Cable Guy was one of the lead voiceovers couldn't fail basically leads me to believe that there's no way this won't be great. I should be seeing it sometime this week, I can't wait.
