guys, I can accept that I'm the only one who doesn't like Agalloch (it should be noted that I have a boner for lots of other slow, atmospheric metal, just not weak, limp wristed stuff) but seriously.. The Dillinger Escape Plan? How in the hell are they metal? It's technical hardcore.. there's little to no metal influence at all.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised, but the amount of really abysmal hipster metal recommendations (this coming from a dude who has no problem with Isis, jesu and Nadja, among others) in this thread is making me a sad panda. On another note, Dethklok is a terrible show and the soundtrack reflects that.

High on Fire is a sweet band, though. I can dig that.

The dude has no mercy!

Cernunnos:
or tact

Caspian:
or manners!

As far as Agalloch goes, you have to be in a particular mindset to really enjoy them.  It's pretty easy to get into that headspace, but I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't like them.  Did you even like the closer on AATG, though?

I tried to avoid putting up hipster metal stuff, or stoner metal stuff for that matter.  I figured everyone else would take care of that.  I know I don't really fap over half of those bands like some of the people on here.  Probably not his cup of tea, anyways.

But c'mon.  Dethklok?  What about Spinal Tap?  Well, I guess I understand that one, too.  The reason I love Metalocalypse so much is because I used to be one of those dudes bent on finding the craziest metal with the weirdest stories behind it.  If you've never been part of that culture or understood how those people think, the humor is generally lost after first viewing.  I've watched both seasons at least 5 times now.  I still maintain that Go Into The Water is a pretty boss track.
