This is true. If we're going to be proper and correct and technical about this then ladybugs are not bugs, they are beetles. Bugs and beetles are different kinds of insects. It's like calling a wasp an ant: sure, they're not a million miles apart, but one is not the same as the other.
Also I've heard that ladybugs/birds/beetles aren't ladies at all. I've heard they're straight up hussies and always spread vicious rumours about each other behind each other's backs.
