Y'all probably played the original, in which you were given 1 hour to beat several levels worth of traps and enemies with an acrobatic but frail prince. Well, this (proper name Prince of Persia 2: The Shadow and the Flame) expands upon the gameplay, offering several locales and enemies, and new puzzles to complete, without the pesky timer. Play it, it's great.

Little tutorial - left and right arrow keys to move, up arrow key jumps up and blocks when you've got your sword out, left / right + up = running jump. To grab onto a ledge you can't quite make press and hold shift. To step lightly (so that you don't just run off ledges - slow stepping will bring you right up to the edge) hold shift and move. Down either sheathes your sword, crouches, or drops to a ledge, depending on context. Ctrl is draw sword and attack.

On the bottom of the screen you'll see red beakers (your health) and blue beakers (enemy health).

You start off jumping out a window. Immediately draw your sword and block any incoming attacks, then counterattack. This works with most enemies. There are a few jumps and some guards but they're not difficult to get through. You'll eventually get to the end of a rooftop with nothing beyond it. Step lightly until you reach the edge, turn around, and drop down. Drop to the street and run left towards the docks. You'll have to time it exactly right to jump off the dock and hold shift to grab the window in time, but there's an autosave at the last drop so you can try as much as you like.

That should get you started!

Pro tips
 - This game uses Alt+keys. Alt+Q = quit, Alt+S = sound toggle, Alt+G = Save game, and so on.
 - There are loose tiles of ceiling as well as floor. Jump up to test them, but get out of the way before they fall!

This one was fucking impossible - in the era before walkthroughs, you had to be the luckiest person in the world to figure out how to beat this game.

Are you cocksmokers playing it or not?

If there's something you just can't get past let me know.

I dled and installed it, and I've been meaning to play it, I really have! I've been extremely busy doing other stuff recently. Once I get my room painted/everything rearranged into place and finish these two papers I'm writing for a summer course I will.
