I nearly cried reading the book, but I haven't seen the movie and I can't remember if I heard the radio serial or if I imagined it.

oh shit man, i cried over jurassic bark too. i forgot all about that, and damn it makes me sad.
on the topic of futurama: the devil hands are idle playthings, the one where fry plays the holophonor for leela, is also pretty much a bummer.

The ending is rather cute though.

Y'know, originally...it wasn't. There was always the whole Marten/Faye dynamic, but there was never a serious thing until fairly recently (in relative terms). It's kind of like the show Friends - we're now at the part where everyone's getting together and it's all oh my god.
