Okay, I have been following QC for some long time now. And I never really read the newsposts because frankly, I'm just here for the comic.

But I just happen to look at one and I just realized that this IS a webcomic based on romantic relationships. God, either I'm slow, or Jeph is just that awesome at making something seem incredibly unrealistically realistic.

Did anyone else take a while to realize that this was a romantic comedy? ._. Or am I just alone?

I don't think the label 'romantic comedy' does this webcomic much justice.

I just got the image of a midwife and a woman giving birth swinging towards each other on a trapeze - when they meet, the midwife pulls the baby out. The knife juggler is standing on the floor and cuts the umbilical cord with a a knifethrow.

Well, what do you call romantic? Sloppy makeouts all the time?

Well, maybe I'm just stereotyping the genre, but when I see 'romantic comedy', movies starring Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan come to mind. I think QC is a bit different from that.

Watch Down With Love.  Then go watch a few Rock Hudson/Doris Day movies.

I never considered it a romantic comedy either, but I guess it could fall into that slot. There's just a lot of different things that happen in the comic.
