Before PC, they were known as hermaphrodites.

Delirium:
Really, intersexed is the term to use for humans with ambiguous genitalia. Hermaphrodites are creatures with both (or more?) functioning sets of genitalia, or which change between the two. Human hermaphrodites just don't exist. I hope science rectifies this soon.
