Essentially, the logic 'If you don't like it , don't read it' could be applied to the 'hate' blogs as well... edit: Not tryin' to be a jerk.
Also, not all 'hate' blogs are for humiliation or to hurt feelings. Sometimes it's just fun to make fun(and to read about it). Especially when mistakes are made(and even when they aren't). If you're a mst3k fan or a spoof lover, you probably understand this. Some of the people who made the movies/shows being made fun of certainly thought they were making something great. But wasn't it fun when someone came along and started making a mockery of it? It wasn't to hurt feelings. It was to make the people who agreed (and possibly didn't)laugh.

I thought that the point of MST3K was that the movies they used were B-grade shit. I've seen some of the Rifftracks stuff lately and it's pretty amusing because the movies they choose are usually fucking horrible.

A lot of people *like* those movies (both mst3k and Rifftrax, though you'd have to be a real oldie to have seen many of the original mst3k ones in theaters). Pertaining to RiffTrax, I know a lot of people who loved Top Gun, the Batman movies (tim burton's), Harry Potter, Star Wars, Alien, (you can bet your hinder that they'll do Avatar), etc. The movies don't have to be bad to be made fun of. And they shouldn't have to be.
To be fair, their styles are very different. However, the XKCDsucks blog and RiffTrax have two very important things in common: neither of the groups take themselves seriously and both want to make someone laugh.

There's a rich tradition of websites like this, you know.
