Yeah, game was a bit of a let down. However:
-It was the first game I watched with my son (10 days old).
-Yay! Football is back!
Other than that ... disappointing opener.

I wouldn't bet on it. He had 19 carries, a few catches, and without Taylor around there's less motivation to swap him out on 3rd downs. Even Chris Johnson didn't average out to more than 25 carries last year and he broke 2k yards. Until the Vikings start sniffing the end zone again you're probably boned.

Additionally the only other game really worth watching this week is Jets/Ravens, and even that's kind of meh. I'll watch Bears/Lions of course, but man.
Also I'm not excited to lose to the Lions.

The funniest thing about the Lions is that I can say I'm optimistic about their odds of doubling that win total without sounding completely insane. After all, that's still only 4 wins.
Storm Rider:
I'm super excited for football season this year, partially because this is going the best team the Niners have had in years. Our draft looked great on paper and has turned out even better in preseason: a lot of the late round picks have turned out really well too. Glen Coffee abruptly retired to do God's work or whatever, but it looks like we found an even better backup for Gore in Anthony Davis. Seriously, look at this fucking stiffarm.
Alex Smith was playing a lot better by the end of last season, and more importantly he'll have much better blocking now. Between the upgrades to the O-line, having Crabtree for the full season, and a healthy Gore ready to go, the offense should play much better. I think this team needs one more good draft (preferably a corner and DE) before they're serious Super Bowl contenders, but they have an absurdly soft schedule this year and should walk away with the division.
Also Alex, I bet you're happy that the Vikes aren't playing the Niners in the regular season after this:
