Patrick:
I went to my first-ever NHL game tonight! Ducks at Sharks. We lost 3-2 in OT, but it was still amazing. Niemi was goaltending and I got to see most of my favorites. Burns, Kearns, Marleau, Couture... I didn't get to see Pavelski though.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Torres and a player on the Ducks collided HARD head-on at full speed. They both spent about 2 minutes down. Torres managed to get up with some help and he mostly got himself to the locker room from there. Ducks guy needed help the whole way. I felt sorrier for the player from the Ducks, Raffi can probably take a hard hit or two.

Nikolai:
Uh, jealous! I haven't been to an NHL game since '96. Flames vs. Kings. Flames won 3-1, if I recall correctly. My dad tells me I was the only little bastard in the Saddledome cheering for Gretzky.

valley_parade:
Much like Patrick, I was also at an NHL preseason game this week.

Boston gave Malcolm Subban (PK's little brother) his first professional start in goal, and Detroit responded by bringing Datsyuk, Alfredsson, Kronwall, Frazen, Abdelkader, etc.

It wasn't ever fair, poor kid gave up 8 goals.

Next game I'll be going to is Syracuse Crunch (Tampa's AHL affiliate) opening night in a few weeks. I am so pumped.

jwhouk:
I've been to 16 NHL games. 15 of them involving the Predators.

Make that 17 and 16, if you include pre-season games.

Patrick:
No real update on the Raffi Torres and Emerson Etem collision other than the fact that I hadn't noticed Etem's return to the ice later in the game, and that Torres and the Sherxx are awaiting test results on his knee.
