Alabama is still number 4...so no need for the phone call, they would get in by just being idle and jumping over the newly lost teams.
As long as would have the usual BCS huge problem they would be in there despite not being the conference champ and possibly over several teams that won their conference titles. The SEC could care less as long as they have Missouri to point to say their champion got in.

Michigan State winning is not in anyway unthinkable. All Ohio State has to do is have the same piss-poor defensive showing that almost got them beat by Michigan.
