Sorry, I'm having a bout of schadenfreude.
The Seldom Killer:
Ups and downs.
Sarah Storey missed out on the women's Hour Record. A phenomenal effort and she has set a new British record and a new Cat C5 record. She definitely ranks as one of my favourite sports people.
Ian Stannard destroyed a three man Quick-Step group in the Omloop Het Neiuwsblad to take the win. More spectacular given that he's come back from breaking his back last year. You can see in the way Boonen rides in the last 2k that he's just gutted he can't get back up to Stannard and Terpstra. Some people just want to win more than others.

I saw a re-run of the final 5km of yesterday's race. Stannard showed no chill whatsoever. Like, I looked up, 4km left, I refresh forum, look up again, 1.8km left. WTF PEOPLE.
The Seldom Killer:
It's strange because from the ground you watch him grinding it out in a big gear and it almost looks like a slow slug out between him and Terpstra who's holding his wheel and doing the same. It's only when you see the overheads and you realise just how fast and hard they're going.

That's the beauty of cycling. Although it's even more extreme when it's an attack on some important climb. My father usually says that they're just not well informed enough, and they're not aware that there's a freaking 15% slope in front of them xD
