Man, I just watched a few highlights of the Ghana-Nigeria and Egypt-Algeria games and I feel kind of torn about the whole thing. On the one hand it's great to see the Ghana players getting really stoked about getting into the ACN final, but on the other hand we've got to play them, Germany and Serbia in the World Cup group stage, so fucking hell.

Did you see the compilation of Viking fan reactions when Favre threw that last interception? It was a trainwreck of pain and comedy. I literally held my head in my hands for five minutes after that happened.

I think it's fair to say as a fan base, we're not exactly equipped to handle these things very well. The fun part is the border line self-loathing you feel for being dumb enough to think they might win of these things. There's a sports writer who noted that once every 10 years or so the Vikings like to eviscerate their fans, and it's sadly pretty accurate.
