I am getting really annoyed at the BBC's lack of Ice Hockey coverage. On their website there are 6 options of events while the Sweden v Germany men's game is on and not one of them is this game. Instead, we get Czech Republic v Slovakia at 5am just because nothing else is on. Not only is this the most bullshit game of the day but it is because Luge and Curling take up 2 of the free slots which the hockey game could use (the others are snowboard halfpipe and alpine skiing which are at least respectable events).

Alex C:
Oh, man, that's horrible, particularly since international hockey kicks so much ass with the small rinks and the lack of a red line. Even the games that aren't between hockey powers are exciting as hell just because momentum can change so damn fast under international rules.

Barmymoo:
There's the silver lining I was looking for! Once I've finished this essay, it will be time for the 5am match to start! No point in trying to sleep tonight, I might as well watch some hockey!

Rob, I dare you to say that to Zdeno Chara's face. I'll even give you a step-ladder so you can do so.

Well, actually, in this case I will admit that I may have been wrong (not being able to see the other 2 games which were fairly close I may still have been right) but I am glad I stayed up to watch it. Both Vokoun and Halak were brilliant and kept their teams in with a chance all through the game, just a shame that Slovakia couldn't capitalise on any of the power plays and seemed to lack an offensive leader.

Just a mention for the BBC again though, his name is ZDENO NOT ZDENKO. Also, it is MARIAN Gaborik NOT MARTIN Gaborik. I swear, they seem to hate Ice Hockey so much and I just don't understand.
