Biathlon is one of the winter sports that does make sense. As in, you can see where it came from at least. It's the physical hunting and trekking skills refined and standardised into a competitive event. It's also straight up badass.

Actually I'm pretty sure it originated as a drill for the Norwegian army. It does look fuckin' hard though.
