I think being a Vikings fan conditions me towards the opposite. I usually pick the teams I'm most familiar with apart and end up talking myself into thinking they're worse than they actually are. E.g. last year's Packers. Loved Rodgers. Took him in my fantasy league. But within a couple weeks his o-line damn near had me convinced he'd be dead by the end of the season. So your team has to be pretty awful before I'm willing to completely write them off against any midwest franchise.

I have no idea what'll happen with Sharks-Hawks though. Late in the playoffs, nearly identical records; eh, no thanks. Besides, I hate guessing what'll happen in hockey since sudden death overtime is brutal. One team can look like they're outplaying the other and suddenly they go down in flames over a garbage goal. Fuck, I love hockey.

Congratulations to Blackpool FC. 39 years since they were last in the top flight of English football.

A well-deserved 3-2 win over Cardiff City sealed their promotion from a team made up of young stars on loan and cast-offs from other clubs.

They probably won't last more than the 1 season in the Premier League but I'm sure they don't really care.
(Yes, they do play in tangerine orange and white)

That final was amazing, was lucky to find a space in a pub showing it here. Stats said literally 1/3 of the town population were at Wembley, which figures since pretty much everybody I know was there. I spent the entire second half waiting for Cardiff to snatch it away from us and have my heart broken but we really pulled through!

Now have to wonder if we can even host our matches here next season - the stadium is pretty much always under construction, and the FA have expressed concern over capacity and access.

Luckily, there's important NFL news as well.

FLYERS IN THE STANLEY CUP FINAL FOR FIRST TIME SINCE 1997!!!!!!!

I am really excited about this because even if we don't win it is the first time that I have seen the Philadelphia Flyers play in a Stanley Cup final since I started watching hockey and became a Flyers fan in 2000. We stand a decent chance as long as no more injuries are picked up but the Hawks are also on fire so it won't be easy by any means.

So excited!
