I loved Histoire De Melody Nelson,are any of Serge Gainsbourgs other albums worth checking out?

You should totally check out Kent, a Rock/pop band with swedish vocals...
The music is not really complex, but there's something very magical and sad in their tunes... Touching band imo.
Alcest from France will not hurt either!

Celeste and Ameoeurs are black metal-tinged francophone bands.
Celeste is a lot like Converge with less crazy time changes, and more dissonance. You can download their discography for free here. 'Tis crazy good.
Amesoeurs is like post-hardcore with black metal elements. One of the members, Neige, is the guy in Alcest (as posted above). Their lone full-length is in the mediaf!re thread, though I'm not sure if the link still works.

If you dig his stuff, I can always uploard any of his cd. I really love that man's music.
