She's offered him civil treatment while he's in the coffee shop.

So compared to the other customers, he's getting favoritism.

True, but if you know Faye, then civil treatment is tantamount to a cold shoulder!  I mean, even Angus gets witty banter.

You only hurt the ones you love...  :-o

(Faye always did take that too literally!)

I would just like to say that I think Faye's expressions have been drawn fucken beautifully. But for srs. They're really well drawn. I believe I heard once that Jeph wanted to move closer and closer to straight-up realism.
srsly man. SO GOOD!

I like the new art style and the subtle nature of it.  They're definitely more expressive without loosing anything of the Fayeness and Doraness of them.

Cool going Jeph.

Now, are we going to see Faye taking on a new career?   :D

Hey, long time reader first time poster here.

I dunno if Jeph actually reads the WCT, but I just wanted to say the the art on today's comic is fantastic. Everything just seems to....click. The Poses at the different angles are great, and the subtle facial gestures just seem so natural. I just wanted to say that I was really awed by it.

The art's great, and the added details make the characters that much more expressive! Me likey!

... one little thing though... does Dora have cat pupils in the fourth panel, or is that just the sleep dep taking it's toll on my fragile mind? ...again.

As horrific as panel 4 is, this was probably the best case scenario in terms of all possible outcomes.  /recalls RainbowPony's edit and shudders

Also, Momo looks good with the correct number of digits.  It actually pushed her *futher away* from uncanny valley, I do believe...

Honestly, it was probably the nails that did me in.  Plus the thought of Pintsize buying a novelty-sized nail clipper to trim them off, and then hide them in places...

Which is funny because there have be instances where a big toe was used to replace a damaged/severed thumb.

So is Jeph not so subtly telling us Pintsize is about do do something very rash & clumsy?   Nahh...

First Akira-esque body horror, and now hideous green robo-digits. Is Jeph trying to give me nightmares?

Could the last strip be described as a thumbnail sketch? Pintsize could now audition for the robo-remake of "Even Cowgirls Get The Blues".

That's what you get with incompatible firmware!  Never install Sony stuff on a Dell... or is Pintsize IBM?

Yay for visual puns!  Everyone else has already said everything else I've been thinking.  'S what happens when you sleep in...

I'm thinkin' Martin's gonna force him to uninstall, though.  Especially if Jeph was grossed out.

Is it weird that the thing that bothers me most about this is how Jeph is going to explain how a software update can reconfigure the shape of an AnthroPC's extremities?

Probably the best solution would be to claim nano materials. Don't forget this is a firmware update, so it's at a deep level in the AnthroPC. The firmware might be able to configure the nano materials to change shape. Also, Momo said the update "activates latent macrostructural features" which means the option to have digits was there before. With Pintsize, the update clearly didn't work as intended  :-D

Pintsize is more likely to be a Dell than an IBM, given Marten's budget.

The digits are presumably a designed-in feature that was turned off for market differentiation.

Will Pintsize now claim that he's in charge under the rule of thumb?

"cops" is unfortunate; cop is "constable on patrol", the plural of which would be "constables on patrol", also abbreviated "cop".

"cops" should be prefaced with "The term", to avoid the sentence structure ambiguity of having a plural referenced in the singular.

Is it bad that I can already think of several things Pintsize could do with his new thumbs? Whats that you ask for examples? Why happily!

What about if Pintsize clipped his newly formed nails and left the clippings somewhere for Hannelore to find?  I pretty sure untold horror would ensue.

Ah, but you're forgetting that Pintsize's chassis is some sort of secret Area 51 military kill-bot worth serious coin on the black market. Marten has replaced various bits inside the chassis, so Pintsize is most likely a total yum-cha special by now, rather than any specific brand.

cop is "constable on patrol"

A highly dubious backronym. Cop is most likely simply an abbreviation of the earlier slang term for the police "copper", which some claim referred to their copper badges, while others claim it referred to their function, to "cop" (grab, take etc. as in "cop a feel") lawbreakers. So "cops" is fine.
