When I pay for a game, it's to reward the people who made it. I can see the appeal of GOG - cheap, no DRM, etc. But I don't feel that I owe them anything - they don't provide anything other than a fast and easy route to get the game, not further development work or additions to the game.

Isn't that entirely untrue? I thought the whole point of GOG was that they updated the games to run on newer operating systems and hence saved old games from abandon-ware and neglect, maybe I'm wrong but that sounds pretty sweet to me.

No, that is correct. They guarantee XP/Vista and soon to be 7 compatibility. Also it's legal.

Aren't there only like 2 special conversations you can have?  Then the rest of the time people don't give you quests and don't talk to you.
