Will they run right without me doing any DOSBox-esque dickery when I buy them off of Steam/GOG?

GOG guarantees compatibility with XP / Vista (and they promise support for 7 as well) Otherwise there's a fan-made patch that fixes all the weird little glitches with Vista (there was a nasty tendency for the colors to go weird in the unpatched version) and generally shores up the game. In addition to that there's a "restoration pack" that adds a bunch of stuff that was cut from the final version of Fallout 2. I played it a long time back and it was certainly interesting to say the least. It wasn't a whole new experience, but there were some new locations and quests and the like. There's also a total conversion mod that completely changes the game, but I only played through Arroyo before it crashed due to incompatibility with the high-res mod. Speaking of which I think I'm going to add that to the game...

Mac versions of the first two games exist, but as far as I'm aware the physical copies are out of print. Unless there's a mac ISO game service I'm not aware of, torrents are your best bet for Macs.

Dejected, ALLISON turns back to the middle of the village.

To her right, ALLISON sees Hakunin the Medicine Man's tent. Using her naturally acute senses she sees a number of plants in Hakunin's garden. These are Nippy Plants, sometimes they spit at her.

Beyond Hakunin's tent lies the hunting grounds. ALLISON fondly recalls when she would accompany her family out to the grounds and smash the Squishy Lizzers with rocks. Oh bygone days.

What do you do.
