Serious Pony Ventrilo?
Ozymandias:
No.
Fuck you.
JD:
All I know is some people have been having problems with Meebo recently.
Boro_Bandito:
We've got a pretty good group of gamers around here, so even though it wouldn't be a good replacement for a community chat program, the ability to create multiple rooms would be great for smaller conversations and gaming amongst us (fuck guys free stuff, can you really shit up a thread about free stuff? given to you? freely?)
snalin:
Very nice! I've gotta remember this when I get around to doing TF2 more seriously, if I ever get around to doing that.

But see, that doesn't work. That doesn't even work in real life. Conversation is not a lecture or a class or a speech. In both practice and theory, using an actual voice program as a means of chat for anything more than a couple of people at once would be a disaster. Have you ever actually been in meebo? There are typically three or four conversations going on at once, dependent on the amount of people involved and with just voice and no image, it would be impossible to really not accidentally cut each other off.
As I said, a QC Vent is a cool idea for gaming and one I can definitely get behind, but the idea of using it as a chat program, much less one to replace a text chat, is outright laughable.
