I think it's actually a sophisticated reversal of the whole "all boys prefer lesbian porn" trope: If your child doesn't like the idea of two girls kissing, he can't be into girls at all.
Or something.
That combined with abject failure to take into account personal musical taste (ie that her child might actually have some) would explain it also.
