It is srs bsns, and though genre is an ugly and messy thing, to certain extent it pertains to what the music actually sounds like, e.g. The Birthday Party does not sound very much like Leftover Crack.

I'm probably biased w/r/t that particular comparison. I've never thought Leftöver Crack is very good.
