Anal is awesome. It's a crime to neglect your prostate if you have one, and many woman (of which I am one) get very intense orgasms from anal. Saying "it's not really taboo" is kind of ridiculous too - just because it's no longer illegal in most places and/or won't get you completely ostracised does not mean there is not a taboo. There are some amazing toys made for anal, don't dismiss it out of hand!

(*) = I'm never sure when to use she, he or it for anything not a person, but I would guess the vagina would be considered female by english speakers.
