This comic is awesome because I actually work at a Goodwill. Faye's description is pretty accurate, to be honest. We judge you.

Hooray for Martin. However, I'm afraid it would swiftly change from 'Follow the Yellow Brick Road' to Goodbye Yellow Brick Road *. 'Cause the bitch would be back. Don't know about sober, though.

We are the Hannelore. We will add your biological and technological cleanliness to our own. Your culture will sanitise to service us. Resistance is futile.
--- End quote ---
Actually, I think it should be: Resistance is futile. We are the Hannelore. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. But first, you must clean yourselves. Thoroughly. We will not tolerate the unsanitary. Don't make us do it ourselves. You wouldn't like it. Resistance is futile, and germs are gross.
*(Well, Caribou, actually, but that's not nearly as much fun a segway.)

Me, my friends, odd family members, and random pets celebrated Australia Day with a huge Chinese feed. Which is what it's all about really.
"We are one, though we are many,
And from all the lands on Earth we come.
We share a dream, and sing with one voice,
I am, you are, we are Australian"
*sniffle* *wipes away tears* Ahem...
Great comic. Are references to the Wizard Of Oz more or less obscure than to the Singularity? I confess that Faye's gothbox remark made me chuckle, reminding me of this strip. Does that make me a bad person? Or just Australian?
jwhouk:
No, it just makes you an Aussie.

Are you kidding?
American English is practically built on the Wizard of Oz.
If you know what to look for, the Wizard of Oz is everywhere.
In ten-thousand years, the only thing that will be remembered of American Pop Culture will be the Wizard of Oz.
It's the American Iliad.
