I'm going to say the same thing I've said to you on this subject, which is that if somebody doesn't voice their feedback in a non-inflammatory, non-assholish way, they should just leave the person alone and let others handle it more diplomatically.
I'm not disagreeing with you on the "be mature your own goddamn self" matter, but I'll disagree with you that people should feel entitled to be inflammatory pricks when giving feedback. It's rude, it's unnecessary, and it's not conducive to a feeling of community. It's divisive at absolute best.

there is absolutely no disagreement here because i agree with you 100%. in fact i am going to take a few steps back and apologize for my really aggressive post which i now realize was sort of uncalled for, it was the result of a really silly combination of getting little to no sleep over the last few days + terrible sickness + waking up at 7am to be at work. however i have read over dan's post several times and i really can't see what was inflammatory about it in the slightest. he suggested to her that she was being hypocritical and then offered a possible solution to her problems. bringing up to someone the possibility that they may be wrong in a particular situation is not the same thing as deliberately trying to piss them off and ruin their life. personally, i don't coddle my friends and tell them they are right all the time if they're not, because how would they learn? an example of an appropriate response from emaline could have been something like "actually, dan, you are misinformed about what happened" or "actually, dan, i am not being hypocritical because this situation is different because..." and etc etc. usually the issue is just communication and this helps resolve it by clarifying whatever was misunderstood, which reduces aggressiveness caused by misunderstanding and makes it easier for people to actually give you the support and help you need, therefore benefitting everyone. responding to an individual telling you in fairly diplomatic terms that you seem like a little bit of a hypocrite and a fool by telling them to fuck off and eat a dick, however, only makes the situation worse and doesn't clear up anything. again, if a person isn't prepared to be told once in a while that they might be wrong, maybe a public message board is not the place for them.
anyway! enough of this. i don't want to shit up this thread any more so pm me if you don't like any of that and we'll talk about it some more.

In other news, Cheesecake Factory tonight; sweeeeeeet. They have the best parmesan chicken I've had, other than Macaroni Grill, but that restaurant has changed and their food is not as good as it used to be.
