I don't call anyone by name anyways (it's David if you're interested :)).

Eh, I doubt it's any different than any other country where drug dealers have houses in the hills. Thing is, the extradition papers were signed and sealed last night, and the garrison where he comes from blocked off the road to protect him.

There'll be war. Literally.

But I doubt he's down there... =\

Today when I was walking along the river an old woman yelled after me "IF YOUR SKIRT HAD BEEN ANY SHORTER, WE'D SEE YOUR ENTIRE CUNT". Amazing.

Presumably you translated this for us? What is this roughly in Norse-Tongue?

I forgot the golden rule of being a librarian.  Just assume everyone get all the information wrong that they present you.

Someone asked for a phone number for an address in CA.  I looked it up but couldn't find it.  Later on I found it and they had gotten the town wrong.

Obviously I should have just assumed that to begin with and searched the whole state when I didn't get immediate results.

But I didn't.  Because I assumed they had the correct info.

They never do.

This is true in bookstores as well. If it didn't come up on the first search, then the more sure they were, the more wrong they were (and the angrier they got when you couldn't pull the book they wanted out of your ass).

On the other hand, they might be even angrier if you did actually pull it out of your ass.

Fuckkk I need some sleep. I haven't managed to keep awake for half of yesterday's lecture. Then I had coffee for the second half, and it got me wide awake but with my attention in a whole other place. I'm not even sure what exactly I'm supposed to be learning for this course. Yeah, I learned that my relative perception threshold for a reference weight of 50 grams is about two grams. Now I know about Weber's law. That might be good for one point.

Kris that is just incredible.

When I was in uni there was an old lady who used to stand at her door and wait for me to walk past in the morning so she could shout at me about how I was a big ol slut.  Good times.

Anyway, more importantly, I got tickets tonight to see the Eels in August!  I am very excited because I am very fond of the Eels!

So how come no-one told me how fantastic Glee is? This is honestly the most fun I've had watching a show in years.

Because way too many people want to take their entertainment way too seriously, and thus hate on Glee.

It's fun! And that's really all I ask for in a show like Glee. The Joss Whedon and NPH episode was pretty awesome.

I shouldn't be thinking about fun things, though. First exam on Tuesday, and then 7 more after that, the last one being on June 12th. Why have I barely done anything the past four days? I'm fucking stupid sometimes :/

I know exactly how you feel - all I seem to have done lately is internet shopping. And when I have been revising, it has all been one on subject. I haven't even started two of them, and the fourth has maybe had about an hour's attention?

On the plus side it is so difficult to fail here that you have to set fire to the paper and then throw it at the invigilator (or answer fewer than half of the questions) that they really can't get rid of me now that I'm in. Which is reassuring.

The thing is that with such intensively short terms, we don't actually learn anything as we go along, we just take copious notes and hope that somehow by osmosis some of it will go in. Then exam term is ridiculous, with everyone stressing and panicking and spending all their time in the library and 80% of people getting a 2nd anyway. I'm refusing to stress and panic because I am here to enjoy my uni degree and study things I care about, not spend hours sweating blood because I can't remember which chapter of Justinian's Institutes refers to the action granted to the owner of a slave whose leg is broken in a fight.

Some people work incredibly hard and get incredibly good grades - the 5% of law students who get 1st class honours degrees do this. The rest of us work hard in bursts, play hard in longer bursts, and get a 2nd class honours degree. The people who fail are the ones who have had something awful happen, like a serious illness or a death in the family, but decide to take the exams anyway, or who spent their entire time getting drunk and sleeping all day.

Anyway, this is clearly procrastination so I'm going back to revising. Honest.

I went down on a guy and accidentally circumcised him. Oops.

And of course Linds beat me to the punch. That is not cool Linds.

Anyways, blog thread, I've decided to make a pretty big decision.

I'm in a program that's going to help me get an apartment and help me get on my feet until I can support myself - problem being that I need a source of income before they'll help me. Not a  bad problem, actually. Now, I've been looking for local jobs so I can live in town, but then the other night I was depressed about the whole thing until I realized why - I fucking hate this town. So I've decided to call them up and ask me to move me over to a different county, and I'm going to look for a job in a city and live and work there and holy shit. I'm going to be in an unfamiliar place with unfamiliar people doing unfamiliar things. I'm going to cut my hair and dye it. I'm going to change everything and I'm terrified but I am exhilarated because this is EXACTLY the sort of thing I've been needing to do.
