Maybe if you actually asked one, you'd get an answer. 

You know, something well defined, that other people could understand. 

Unfortunately, "What the hell is going on up here?" only has undirected pronouns for reference, so all you've done is confuse the crowd, and they don't always react well to being confused.  Surprisingly, a few decent puns and cultural references have come out of the resulting thread anyway, so it wasn't a total loss to the rest of us. 

Could've been worse.
