Thank you for that imagry.  I will never be able to watch Toy Story  the same way again.

It's now definitely official, Pintsize has completely reprogramed/corrupted Hanners Roomba.

Perhaps it's for the best for Hanners sake that it's gone.

St. John's still is a party place? (Never been there, just remember one character making plans to go there and raise hell in a novel I read in the seventies—called it "Sin John's.")
I'm pretty sure all of Newfoundland is a party place. Even the tiny outport towns can be awesome party spots if you can find a kitchen party.

But, yeah, I'm pretty sure St. John's, at least on George Street, is a party town. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Street,_St._John%27s

"Old Black Rum" by Great Big Sea (who are from NF) makes mention of George Street and seems to imply a lively nightlife.

Well... Hanners never did say if she had any brothers or sisters...
They'd have to be half-siblings: she said that she's her mother's only child in #1152.

Anyway - where does Pintsize get the money?  I'm presuming he's got some sort of internet business going on.
Who'd you think spams all those "Widow of ex-President Oojeeboojo needs your help" e-mails? And he's subverted all the badly-configured PCs in the world into a massively-parallel botnet to crack bank-account passwords. What? Did you really think your SETI@home screensaver was looking for little green men? Folding@home? Pintsize researching designer drugs. Rosetta@home? Aphrodisiacs.

Getting back to today's comic... Why is there an "Authorised Persons Only" sign inside the Roomba containment area?

What's the best way to deal with AnthroPCs that break windows/lose the Roomba

Repair the damage as best you can and confiscate his allowance.    6 (17.1%)
Two words: Re-Format.    3 (8.6%)
I don't know but the last time it happened, a Geek Squad guy was heard whimpering "Oh God! The Horror! The Horror!"    12 (34.3%)
Set phasers to defenestrate.    7 (20%)
Nuke 'em from, Oh Hell just don't book any trips to North America for a while    7 (20%)

Total Voters: 35

Looks like we had some literary voters in yesterday's polling action.

New poll is up.

Tai does not have a rooster? That is a crying shame.  :-P

But aside from any hangups that Marten and Dora might have about monogamy (and other social issues), I don't see why she couldn't make it a triangle if Dora would be attracted to her anyways. So long as no one gets the urge to murder the hypotenuse, it could work.

Speaking from my personal experience, Tai is right. It does lose its appeal after a while.  Sometimes you have to take a break.
Aw man. I  want some personal experience to evaluate her statements against!

After seeing Pintsize's enthused expression, "The Moon!" the next panel is kind of like finding out "Infinity" is the name of Buzz Lightyears's favorite whore at the bordello, and we've just cut to him going 'beyond.' I don't know why I had this reaction, but I did, and so, of course, I shared.
I think I hate you now.

Five to one, baby!
What? I no understand. I music deficient.

I don't know but the last time it happened, a Geek Squad guy was heard whimpering "Oh God! The Horror! The Horror!"    12 (34.3%)

New poll in a jiffy.
Or movie fans. I didn't like Heart of Darkness; it was too blunt with it's imagery for me and there was too much of it, like a cheeseburger with ten slices of Gorgonzola.

I've always wondered, how long is a jiffy? Or a few? Or a moment?

Uhh... the way she's using it here, I'm not sure Tai knows what being "polyamorous" actually means. It's not like... something you DO. It's more of something you ARE. If she wants to settle down with one person eventually, but just hasn't had the opportunity to find that person yet, then she's not being poly, she's just being non-monogamous and casually dating multiple people at the same time.  I know people who are poly and DO have what Marten has with Dora, or even more than that--they are married and 100%, head-over-heels, totally in love with and committed to their spouse--AND they also happen to have serious relationships in addition to their marriage.

Tai has always seemed to be more of a sexual opportunist than poly. She's indicated before that if she were in love with someone, she would not want to see anyone else or be able to have feelings for anyone else, which is pretty much the opposite of polyamory.

I could think of a number of other c- words which could well fit in that phrase.

Like chalk.  After all, her last known partner was a professor.  (okay let's pretend that joke worked and was funny and move on)

Tai only wants a monogamous relationship because she doesn't have it.  Eventually she'll find someone, settle down and two weeks later be clawing at the walls, yearning for her former free-fuck lifestyle.  The grass is always greener, or in this case, gold-er.

I started to make a comment about Tai's logic (the 'because' kind), yesterday, then hesitated, thinking I was being harsh. Now I wonder. I hope she's trying to be funny.

A jiffy is longer than a shake, shorter than a jusaminit, or at least I've always understood it to be so.

Actually, some crazed freako kind person on Wikipedia has tried to categorize it, if you're interested. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jiffy_%28time%29

Meh. So?

The thing that gets me is that first, this seems a little out of character for  Tai - she's never seemed to be one to really wallow in Woe Is Me Land, and for her to do so now seems odd. Second, she has no business blaming Marten, of all people, that her life isn't where she wants it (or that she's not getting out of life what she wants). Joking or not, if her life isn't where she wants it, that's her business. Third, her comment about Marten being with Dora, the only girl in that circle Tai could have a chance with, seems obnoxious if only because she doesn't know the backstory (you know, like the fact that Dora was the one that pursued Marten, not the other way around).

I bet there's a seperate channel of pirated bandwith reserved only for AnthroPCs. Some of them use it for porn, others for Skynet...

When AnthroPC's were first introduced in 2002, they were issued the same bandwidth link assigned to satellite radio. When Sirius and XM merged last year, that left a whole bunch of extra bandwidth for APC's - but they're no longer being produced, as all of the companies that made them either went bankrupt or stopped making them.

By the way, they started to have issues with APC's when Howard Stern joined Sirius. Coincidence? I think not.

I think Tai sees everyone around her settleing into some form or other of serious long term relationship and it's beginning to dawn on her she really has no-one worthwhile to 'Come Home to' so to speak and she's beginning to wonder if she's missing out here.

But she isn't, really; the only relationship we're aware, that she's aware, of, is Marten and Dora's.  Otherwise, you're talking the girls in her personal clique, who are constantly jumping relationships, or the girls in Marten's circle, which generally include Hannelore and Faye, and now to a lesser extent, Marigold; none of whom have serious relationships.  True, Penelope does, but I'm not sure if Tai's met Penelope outside of twitter-canon...

I keep feeling that the next panel of this comic, if there was one, would feature Tai replying: "I do too have a cock; right here (taps wherever she feels relevant), where it counts."

Anyway, I think the point, if there is one*, is that Tai sees Marten's female friends as more stable people than hers tend to be. Which is a rather frightening idea, but perfectly in line with the condition of most college students, all of whom are, of course, insane.

(At least I know I was, and lets not even talk about the people I went to school with.)

*Still hoping she's joking.

A nametag intended for one specific person—or an excuse for killing everyone one meets. Which is it?

You all are going too far with your allusions. I would not say such things if I were you.

OK, start here, it's a 5-strip build up for a pun in the last panel of the last strip, and it's worth every moment...

Oh, my. Last week we ended with Airplane, this week The Princess Bride- what's next, 300? This is madness! *checks behind me for bottomless pit*

Oh, thank you sir.
