Tom:
EDIT: I NOW HAVE BOOTCAMP

Sometimes I get bored of reading and feel the intense need to play video/computer games. Up until I finished high school I'd never really had the chance to play them. Since I finished 3 months ago I have played: Fables I, II, The Legends of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, Spirit Tracks, Twilight Princess, RE4, Assassin's Creed, new Pokemons and Bioshock. I'm not done entirely with these games yet so far I've enjoyed the immensely and they have great replay value for me.

I've just ordered a standard 15" MacBook Pro, I'll be seeing it on Wednesday along with my shiny new 32GB ipod Touch (hopefully), and I want some games that I can play on it.

Basicaly, I'd prefer some stuff like the above mentioned games and/or meets the criteria presented in the manifesto of a Bioshock developer.

I'm not really all that fussed about age or graphics quality I just want fun, engaging games with a degree of exploration. I'm happy to download smaller packaged files or buy the game online for less than 40 AUSD each.

EDIT: I NOW HAVE BOOTCAMP

KvP:
If it's new, you might as well bootcamp it. Find somebody with a crack'd version of Windows and play games on it, because the vast majority of games don't work on a Mac OS - Apple still uses OpenGL, and very very few game developers cover that system now (Blizzard being the obvious exception) For the type of game you want you'll need to bootcamp.

Otherwise there are retailers that sell expensive ports of games that will work on Macs, most of which are out of print. For example, Fallouts 1 and 2 are ported but I think they run something like $40 per game (on PC you can pay $20 for both games)

snalin:
spiderweb software makes games for mac, and they have big, big demos. Avernum or Geneforge is what you're looking for.

ZELDA IS MY FAVORITE EVAR

Some of the most fun Zelda-ish exploration games on a Mac are the Penny Arcade games:

I have played the shit out of Episode 1, I fucking love it. DIE MIMES

I know that there is a Mac category of games at Direct2Drive, you could check that out.
