I said too many when I quoted Jeph as saying 30 strips to redraw. Here is what he actually wrote in his LiveJournal:

I didn't like the #1 redraw so much, but I really like this one. Especially the detail of Marten leaning back to catch a look at Faye. Very nicely done!
Would've liked to have seen that studded belt and older hairstyle on Faye, though. But yeah, alll the new detail's really nice!

You know what would be the greatest? If the newsposts came with the book as well. I bet if you were to show April 2004 jeph the comic from Friday, he'd never believe it was his.
