Scandanavian War Machine:
I am in the market for a new tv. A nice one.
I have pretty much narrowed down what I want, now I'm just looking for good brands and good prices.

Basically, I'm looking for: 1080p, 120hz, at least two HDMI inputs, and between 37 and 42 inches. The size isn't terribly important but everything else is mandatory.

I've checked all my local retailers (except Costco, that's on my To-Do-List) and the best deal I've found was at Best Buy. The only problem is that they only have the display model left and, with the additional warranty (don't wanna take any chances, ya know?), it comes a little too close to being all my money. On that note: I have almost exactly $1000 in my bank account and ideally I'd like to have two or three hundred left when it's all said and done (I realize that this is pushing it).

Amazon also has some decent deals but it keeps getting my hopes and dashing them. There was 37" LG that was pretty much perfect and the price said $559.99 or something and I thought "wow that's cheap" but then when I clicked on it said seven hundred and something instead so I was like "eff that" because that is more than the display model that I could pick up at Best Buy TODAY.

So, any glowing/seething recommendations/condemnations of brands/retailers you can give me, I would really appreciate it. Also, time is sort of a factor because there is a chance I will say "fuck it" and buy one today after work. But I'm not all that impulsive so I might not, it's hard to say. Thanks in advance.

Emaline:
Oh hey, I am also looking for a new tv.

My boyfriend recently found a pretty sweet deal, but you have to act on it tonight, because it ends soon. When he gets home I'll post the link. I think it's only like $600.

Samsung, LG, Sony, or Sharp are personal favorites.  TBH, it's not that important.  At that price point, those brands are of all similar quality.  Go with what's on sale.

KvP:
I got this TV for about $400 on sale around Thanksgiving. It's great but I'm not sure you can get that kind of deal nowadays.

Storm Rider:
Go with a Samsung or a Sharp, for sure. They've got the best quality-to-price ratio in my opinion. Sony sets are usually a little better, but nowhere near worth the price hike they have over other brands.
