Fall Out Boy
Ballard:
The only people who liked 808s are Hispanic scene kids who also love Morrisey and twenty-something white guys who just needed a soundtrack to fuck other people's girlfriends to.
E. Spaceman:
for a moment I thought you were actually referring to 808s and I would cut you.

I am neither and I liked it. It is also the only Kanye West album I've ever liked.
I'm dissprovin' all over yer theories
nufan:
How was he "shittin' in some ears"? Love Lockdown alone was fucking amazing, unlike anything else I've heard at least in pop music.
I should also make a distinction between "like" and "love". Aside from Love Lockdown and a few others I wasn't massive crazy about it, I just thought it was a good solid album.

I've been wrong about the Evens forever, it seems.
--- Quote from: David_Dovey on 15 Mar 2010, 06:51 ---Who the fuck listens to Kanye now? The optimal mode is to have been on Kanye's jock for the first two records then hop off at Graduation when he started talking like he was hot shit and basically treading the same old ground as every other rapper except 100% less relatable and appealing and sincere
--- End quote ---
The only people that's trendy for are people who are totally uninterested in rap besides being able to say things like "I don't like that shit about bitches and guns, you know?" Also Graduation has a bunch of killer tracks and I get the feeling a bunch of you don't know what you're talking about. Like
--- Quote from: Professor Snuggles on 15 Mar 2010, 08:39 ---bad at rapping
--- End quote ---
Not even. Look up "ft. Kanye West" on YouTube and check out a bunch of spots where he absolutely lays it down. Yeezy can be clumsy at times but his best moments are pretty fucking good. How could you say that he's a bad rapper and have heard like half of Late Registration? Dovey's right except that Kanye has always been up his own ass and that's what makes records like Graduation and 808s stand out - they have a focus usually not found in rap records, while bearing the excellent singles the genre's known for.
