I would not say that kanye is a great rapper if talking about his techical skills. His flow can rather average but his great virtue is in knowing the limitations of his voice and producing accodingly. His whole attitude is rather unlikeable but 808s and Heartbreak was actually a pretty good record.

Kanye doesn't have the most amazing flow, it's more his references and humour which make him work. And his production.

Same thing could be said for Family Guy.
