Robert Pattinson Died in 9/11

I don't think it's a taboo topic, and honestly approaching it this way could make a very good film, but at the same time I don't have any confidence in this movie to approach it in a meaningful way - all signs point to them using it as a cheap shock twist.

I think it is this here that annoys me about the whole thing. Not mentioning it in any of the promotional material makes sense in the fact that the whole 9/11 deal is supposed to be a shock (like it was in real life) and showing anything about it would basically be telling you the end of the movie in the trailer; something that people get annoyed about every day. I can see why they would do it this way.

But at the same time it also seems like it is still something that people don't want to mention because they don't want to make the poor public cry from the terrible memories. Now, I know it was a terrible thing that happened, and there are people who are still effected by this, but at the same time I kinda feel like it has been long enough to broach the whole situation (albeit probably in a better way than this movie seems to do, with the whole "Surprise! You weren't expecting that, were you?" deal).

Maybe the movie will surpass my low expectations and be a good movie, but I doubt I will watch it to find out because a) I have seen enough of RPattz trying really hard to be a character but essentially ending up being RPattz very obviously acting; and b) The seemingly cheap twist of BAM! TERRISM IS BAD, GUYS! puts a bad taste in my mouth and I will probably just end up being disgusted. From the trailer I saw, it looked like the kind of awful romance movie that my mother would buy on dvd and watch on the weekend so that she doesn't have to think, but now it just looks like they tried to give a pointless romance movie some sort of deeper meaning and cashed in on the terrorism buzz-topic of the moment.

I once made out with a dude in that movie. He's the buddy of Pattinson in the trailer. Tate somethingorother. What does that have to do with this topic? Very little. I just thought I'd mention it.

And if the Titanic had sunk in recent, living memory and had involved thousands of people being horrifically murdered rather than dying as a consequence of gross incompetence.

Well the captain was a cocky asshole.
