Well, he's the producer so I don't really know if that qualifies as "making' the movie. Also Dusk Til Dawn sucked.

I think boobs is more of an Alien thing. Predator movies seem to be all about sausagefests. (This does not include any of the AvPs because they are silly.) Who knows!

This is going to be better than every installment since the first one, at the very least, I am sure.
And the first one wasn't exactly an outstanding piece of film, just a very good dumb action movie.

Predator is one of my favorite movies since two of its stars (Jesse Ventura and Arnold Schwarzenegger) went on to become Governor.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but Predator holds the Buttfranklin Book of Records for the movie with the most actors who went on to become Governors.

Funniest part about the cast is that Adrian Brody alone lets me argue that yes, a Predator movie, one of the schlockiest franchises ever, is a virtual lock to have better acting than the movie the lady wanted to see this weekend. Granted, she wants to see Eclipse, but still. The face she made as she realized she had pretty much no come back to that was priceless.

I can't really knock him as an actor, but he is apparently quite obnoxious in person. Not an asshole, but rather a guy convinced of his own lovable wackiness. Hence his getting banned from SNL and famous kissing of Halle Berry.

Anyway, all the informed opinions I've read and heard have made the movie out to be somewhat inert and disappointing. A shame, the cast and director showed quite a bit of potential, not to mention the nearly foolproof premise for an action film.

The reviews for this have been really interesting to read, to see people claim it as a wonderful reboot or continuation of the Predator franchise and the people who think that as a reboot it tarnishes the Predator.

A couple of my friends discussed watching this as like a monthly "go see a horrible Hollywood action film" thing but I'm kind of hoping that this is going to fall through, I don't think I've ever enjoyed the Predator franchise.

I'm agreeing with the last person, everything was good individually until you added it into a summation of crap. Maybe character development would have been a good choice, so throughout the movie I wasn't secretly hoping that the entire planet would miraculously spin out of its orbit to collide with the nearest sun and be destroyed leaving a big bang and be done with it.

I was reminded of the scene in the Men in Black trailer that never appeared in the film ("you know how to use these things?..." "... I have no idea" -cocks gun- ).

Maybe I was at an advantage having been completely aware of the fact that both AVPs would be absolute crap before bothering to see them so the films didn't taint my idea of the franchise.  I thought the movie was a good mix of awful camp and action/sci-fi.  Yes, it is really stupid when stuff like Lawrence Fishborne's character EXPLODES from being shot with the plasma rifle happened but I was totally entertained by the swerve that he was a crazy hermit that just ended up trying to kill them and therefore was only given a cameo role

The only REAL disappointment I felt afterward was in regard to the romance between tough guy and sniper girl.  The fact that the original completely lacked anything like that AT ALL is what made it one of the better all time action movies, if not the best (not that I've seen many, but I always felt like that was a very smart thing to leave out... it's pretty unnecessary).

Predators was just about alright. I actually liked to build-up to the moment they discover why they all were on the planet. Loved the atmosphere and the guns. For me, Topher Grace acted the best. I would have liked if more people had survived in the end. They looked terribly stupid for fighters who had killer-instincts and were supposed to be 'predators' of the human race :?

Yeah, the loss to Phoenix was really hard. We're really missing Suter back on the blue line, and no Erat or Lombardi up front is giving us fits when we're trying to advance on the power play.

Did anyone miss this in the film?

I was looking for that shot, and when it didn't happen I definitely had a moment of 'What the fuck?' but I just let it go, because it's far from the first time that movie has pulled a bait and switch on me.  Hell, even videogame trailers do it.  I'm just used to it now.
