You are aware that the kid in question is a fictional caracter, and that his (not really that) extreme young age is what makes the joke?

Danielle is not advocating that it's OK for children to know all about sex, or that it is appropriate for children to behave that way or for the adults responsible to allow that sort of behavior.

Also, the kid doesn't have very much of a role in later story arcs. You should give GWS another chance.

But in reality, is it really all that outrageous for a 10 year old boy to act like a horn-dog? There was the neigbor kid in Mad Men who got a crush on Betty Draper, and he was portrayed to be 9.

You'd be surprised by how much a 10-11-12 year old knows (or thinks he knows, which is worse) about sex.

omg, jwhouk, that's Davan and Peejee!   Thanks!   :-D

(...um, what is this "aLife" thing I should get?  And where do I download that?)

Border Reiver:
Actually that was Davan and Nancy.

If you find the site to get that download let me know....

Speak for yerself, sonny.  Remember human development (as with anything that has multiple variables) follows a bell curve, and there's a lot of variation.  There will always be individuals out in either extreme.  To be honest, knowing nothing about sex until you were 14 sounds a bit far from the mean in its own right, just in the opposite direction!

Ask any Jr. High (6-7-8th grade, 10 - 14 year olds) teacher - those kids are nothing but a mass of rampaging hormones and (probably as a result) neuroses!

And from a personal standpoint, I know I started early, but that had a lot to do with early maturation - I was 5'6" and 150 lbs in 6th grade, biggest kid in the school, and starting to get hairy and interested in (older) girls.  You can't even begin to understand the level of awkward that entails!
