The Humble Indie Bundle Grumble, Bumble

(1/4) > >>

KvP:
Pay however much you want and get a whole mess of indie PC games! DRM-free, to be downloaded whenever you like. I've played Penumbra and it is pretty ace (donating also gives you a coupon that lets you get the whole Penumbra series for $5), and I hear good things about World of Goo.

snalin:
I'm SO going to buy this - I've been thinking about getting World of Goo for a while already - the demo on Steam was a bunch of fun. I'll just have to find my wallet again first - I think I left it in some costume pants instead of my real pants yesterday.

I know World of Goo is a puzzler, but what kind of games are the others?

LTK:
I've played World of Goo and it's brilliant. It has a simple concept behind the puzzles but the humor and creativity is what really drives the game. I also played Gish one time, it's a platformer where you play a ball of tar. To get through the levels, most being caves, you can stick to walls and ceilings, solidify to crush through obstacles, and liquify to fit through narrow spaces. It's very physics-heavy, and by that I mean that you're mostly a slave to the laws of gravity, momentum, inertia, and other physical forces acting on a ball of tar. This sometimes makes you very hard to control. I personally wasn't very impressed, but then again, I barely ever play platformers.

öde:
World of Goo is awesome, Gish is quite fun, haven't downloaded the others yet.

smack that isaiah:
me and one of my roommates both donated for the bundle.
Gish is fun, but i feel the jumping is too ineffective w/o momentum.
Lugaru is a lot of fun, even tho it was the one I was the least excited for.  You are  humanized rabbit and you go around fighting other rabbits and wolves.  The controls are simple and the system for fighting is fun.
Penumbra has caused my roommate to suddenly shriek in terror a few times--I've not yet played it.
World of Goo is just plain awesome, altho very difficult at times--I got it for wii way back when.
Aquaria (or whatever it's name is) is fun and simple--my roommate's played it more than me and he likes it a lot.
The extra game they just added, Samorost, is just a point and click flash puzzle/logic game.  I find it quite difficult at times.
