connathan:
I appreciate that Faye has difficulties with emotions, and that she's been hurt in the past, but I think she could be a little nicer to Angus...he's making a real effort, he's not kicking up a fuss about her take-things-slowly attitude, and he's proven himself as a decent, honest guy in his treatment of Marigold. What more does he have to do? And why doesn't Faye have to prove herself worthy of Angus, pray tell? Is she that wonderful that Angus has to work for her, without any guarantee of her interest in or commitment to him? She really hasn't given him ANY indication that she likes him back, hasn't complimented him in return for the lavish praise he bestowed on her, she's just been generally prickly. I for one kind of think Angus could do better, but then again, we know he likes a bit of antagonism.

Border Reiver:
Ah metaphors, boon to clear communication with no chance of misunderstandings!

Wait a minute...

You might have a good point; but I think it's less that Faye thinks of herself as a good catch, and rather thinks of herself as a bad one, and is basically telling Angus 'Caution, enter at your own peril'.

Your no-prize is materializing in your right hand even as I type. Don't drop it!

Naaaah... that'd be too close to fanservice!

I wish there were some way to test it, though.

Quick, we need some really good plot ideas for Monday...

You realize, of course, that you just did the equivalent of standing upwind. And it's a shame, because I have a tasty plot idea sitting in my brain even as we speak. Sigh Now we'll have to wait weeks, maybe months to try this to give Jeph a chance to settle down and start feeding in the area again (if he ever did; material from 'fairy tales' make for very general spoor) Then we'll need to be vewy, vewy…well, you know.

Edit: somewhere in there I think my metaphor collapsed. Damn you and your poor stamina, figurative language!
