Tuitsuro:
Should it be considered a big revelation that Hannelore's apartment has the ability to provide electricity to at least 5 heavy-consumption electronics without blowing any fuses?  I mean that's not normal for an apartment, right?

raoullefere:
I'm thinking there's probably a German 'composite' word that would serve Marten's needs. If not, I'm sure a native speaker could cobble one up.

I take my oatmeal (is that porridge or gruel?) with sugar (well, Splenda; it's kind of like sugar. Kind of.) and salt. Don't know where that puts me on the weirdness spectrum.

Carl-E:
Depends.  Instant, it's gruel.  "Quick" oats or traditional, it's porridge.  Grueldom is more a matter of consistancy, I believe.

Splenda is not like sugar.  Nothing is like sugar...  well, except more sugar.

Brown sugar and raisins for me, a splash of milk to make it more gruel-ly.  No salt, watching the BP.

And what do the sisters keep in that cauldron?  Porridge, or gruel?

Is it cold in here?:
Hannelore may have negotiated with the landlord to upgrade her electrical service to power the cleaning equipment.

akronnick:
I eat my grits with butter and salt.

If I'm really hungry I'll mix some scrambled eggs and some cheddar cheese into it.
