You're right that I should get it because I've never played it, but I can't imagine how it could be better to the original. Insult swordfighting was a brilliant game mechanic.

That is basically a carbon copy of what I said to someone who told me MI2 was better than the first. The puzzles get stupidly difficult and lacking in logic towards the end, but other than that the game is absolutely superb.

LeChuck's revenge is not superior to the original. The puzzles seem to come completely unhinged from any sort of logic as the game goes on, not to mention how the plot takes a massive nose dive in the later sections. One of the worst plot twists of all time.

I was using ScummVM to play Monkey Island and Beneath a Steel Sky on my Dreamcast a few years ago.

The Xbox Version was on sale again during the Black Friday Live sale but I think I am going to wait until I can get the PC version.
