Keep in mind he was wearing those clothes purely so that Faye would make fun of him as we see in the comics that follow.
I do miss his glasses though; I kept imagining Faye and Angus going in for an impromptu kiss and bumping glasses awkward-style.

He's always been "the dumpy guy in glasses who always comes in here". His look has changed, though (check out those sideburns!) and he's always had something for Faye.
...No, I'm not a webcomic geek!
