Since the second world war, the UK and Iceland have fought three bloodless wars over cod fishing rights.
Icelands national dish is hakkarl, or fermented shark meat, which is one of the foulest things it is possible to eat. The national drink is brennivin, which is made from potatoes and flavoured with caraway seeds and angelica. It's actually pretty good but it has to be served at a temperature below 0 degrees celsius.
Icelands two main exports are pumice and Lazy Town.

Why Iceland isn't a bigger tourist destination for horny teenagers is unknown.
